NSCV Workshops
The National Marine Safety Committee (NMSC) recently released for public comment a draft national marine construction safety standard and accompanying Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS).
The new draft National Standard for Commercial Vessels (NSCV) Part C Construction and Design, Section 3 – Construction standard’s objectives include the need to develop the NSCV based on recognised and approved national and international standards for the design and construction of vessels; and to encourage the development of professional competence in vessel design, construction and survey
The construction standard consultation process follows that of a closely related standard, NSCV Part C, Section 6 Stability, 6A – Intact Stability.

To obtain a copy of the draft construction standards and RIS documents <click here> . The public comment period for both NSCV Part C Section 3 – Construction and Part C, Section 6A – Intact Stability will now close on 28 February 2007.
