Introduction to the National Register of Compliant Equipment
This is the web site for the National Register of Compliant Equipment (NRCE), which lists details of products suitable for use in marine safety applications. The NRCE is a register of products and systems (appliances) that have been approved as complying with the requirements of the relevant Sections of the Uniform Shipping Laws (USL) Code/National Standard for Commercial Vessels (NSCV) or the National Standard for Recreational Boat Safety Equipment (NSRB — SE) as specified in the NRCE Policy and Procedures. The appliances accepted for inclusion on the NRCE have been approved by a recognised product certification body or testing and listing authority.
This site contains a complete listing of the approved appliances and the contact details of their Australian/New Zealand manufacturer/suppliers on the "Approved Product" page of this site. In addition, application instructions, fee information and application forms for entry of appliances onto the Register are detailed on the Product Approvals pages of this site.
Links to relevant Commonwealth and State/Territory Government Marine Authorities can be found at Links To Other Sites. These Authorities are responsible for the legislation which applies to safety equipment within their waters.
