Overview

Listing on the Register

The National Register of Compliant Equipment (NRCE) is a source for identifying marine safety products and systems (appliances) that have been approved in accordance with requirements set out in the NRCE Policy and Procedures. Products or systems listed on the NRCE comply with the requirements of the relevant Sections of the Uniform Shipping Laws (USL) Code/National Standard for Commercial Vessels (NSCV) or the National Standard for Recreational Boat Safety Equipment (NSRB-SE) as specified in the NRCE Policy and Procedures. The types of safety products accepted as compliant with the NSRB - SE are confined to personal floatation devices (PFDs), flares and navigation lights.

Approval for listing on the Register is dependent on the appraisal of the product/system by an independent product certification body, recognised by the National Marine Safety Committee (NMSC).
