National Standard for Commercial Vessels
The National Standard for Commercial Vessels is being progressively
introduced to replace the USL Code. The following table shows which
parts have been published to date, and their status. Publication
of the standards implies that the standards have been endorsed
by the Australian Transport
Council.
However, standards must be applied in legislation before they are officially implemented. See Legislated Standards -> Commercial Vessels -> Combined USL/NSCV 2008, for more information on which sections of the NSCV have been implemented through legislation.
To check whether or not the standards are in-force in a particular
State or Territory in Australia, you can also check with the local Marine
Authority in that jurisdiction.
