NMSC continues to strive to achieve improved safety outcomes by extending data development into both the commercial and recreational boating arenas. We are seeking to identify ‘black spots’ and main risk areas for marine safety and to gauge the impact of experience – or lack of experience – and other human factors on incidents.

The exemptions database is a commercial vessels database and records the details of all vessels which have exemptions from survey. It identifies key areas of concern and helps us to revise commercial vessel standards. Only marine agencies can access the exemptions database via the NMSC website.
